Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage PLC programmers, controls engineers, technicians, and automation personnel.
- Oversee expert-level PLC programming, PLC safety programming, and HMI programming for manufacturing and industrial automation systems.
- Manage automation projects through all project phases including planning, execution, commissioning, startup, and completion.
- Monitor project timelines, resources, productivity, and deliverables to ensure successful execution.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical, electrical, robotic, and automation-related issues.
- Interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Support and supervise industrial network configuration and communications systems.
- Cook up robot integration, automation systems, pneumatic systems, and analog systems within manufacturing environments.
- Generate information transmission reports, project status reports, and technical documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company safety standards, PRL regulations, and industrial safety procedures.
- Manage and coordinate human capital, including team leadership, performance, and training.
- Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, contractors, and internal teams.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Promote teamwork, responsibility, discipline, and adaptability within the department.
- Provide leadership and maintain strong customer relationships throughout project execution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in PLC programming, industrial automation, or controls engineering.
- 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
- Experience dealing directly with clients and managing customer expectations.
- Strong experience with PLC platforms such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or Omron.
- Experience with HMI/SCADA systems, VFDs, robotics, and industrial communication protocols as well as PLC safety programming.
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems within manufacturing or automotive environments.
- Advanced knowledge of pneumatics and analog systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Experience with equipment commissioning, troubleshooting, and startup support.
- Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
