Platform Engineer (Level 2)
About the role
The Platform Engineer (Level 2) will support enterprise hosting environments and enhanced Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (eVDI) systems within a secure federal environment. Key responsibilities include configuring, integrating, and maintaining virtual and physical systems to enable mission-critical operations, collaborating with engineers, database administrators, and network specialists, and providing Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for enterprise Citrix users and back-end systems.
Responsibilities
- Implement, integrate, and maintain systems within Citrix, Windows, UNIX, and Linux environments.
- Perform software scripting, provisioning, and configuration management to support enterprise hosting platforms.
- Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for enterprise Citrix users and back-end systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate applications into enterprise virtual environments.
- Conduct system performance analysis, capacity planning, and optimization activities.
- Implement network solutions such as load balancing, VPNs, and network address translation (NAT).
Requirements
- Experience implementing, integrating, and maintaining systems within Citrix, Windows, UNIX, and Linux environments.
- Experience performing software scripting, provisioning, and configuration management to support enterprise hosting platforms.
- Experience troubleshooting complex issues related to eVDI performance, connectivity, and configuration.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate applications into enterprise virtual environments.
- Experience conducting system performance analysis, capacity planning, and optimization activities.
- Experience implementing network solutions such as load balancing, VPNs, and network address translation (NAT).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline and ten (10) years of relevant experience.
- Four (4) additional years of Platform Engineering experience may substitute for a degree.
- DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level I or higher certification.
- Active TS/SCI clearance with full-scope polygraph required.
Pay
A variety of factors can impact the final salary offered, including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and wage rates, relevant work experience, specialized skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
