About the Opportunity:The PLATFORM ENGINEER JAVA is responsible for proactively remediating vulnerabilities across platform services primarily built with Java and Spring Boot. This role ensures the platform remains secure and reliable by managing upgrades, analyzing security findings, and validating that system changes do not cause regressions. The position contributes to the organization's stability and security posture by coordinating with security and release teams and occasionally handling related Python services. Responsibilities:Remediate library vulnerabilities across platform services on a twice-weekly cycleUpgrade and manage dependencies including Maven BOMs, parent POMs, and transitive dependenciesAnalyze Mythos and Snyk security findings, assess severity and impact, and apply fixesValidate upgrades do not introduce regressions through build, test, and deployment processesMaintain compatibility across shared libraries used by multiple servicesUse AI-assisted remediation tools to accelerate upgrade workflowsCoordinate with security and release teams regarding vulnerability SLAsOccasionally remediate Python dependencies in platform services Requirements:Proficiency with Java 17/21, Maven, Spring/Spring BootExperience with GitHub and Jenkins pipelinesFamiliarity with Python 3.x, pip, requirements.txt, and PoetryKnowledge of React, Node.js, and NPMExperience with AWS services (ECS, Lambda, IAM), Docker, and TerraformFamiliarity with AI-assisted coding tools such as AWS Kiro or similarUnderstanding of security and compliance tools including Mythos and SnykSkills in vulnerability lifecycle management and CVSS scoring Pay Range and Compensation Package:The pay range and compensation package for this role will be determined based on the candidate's experience, skills, and other relevant factors.
