Responsibilities

• Significantly contribute to the development of custom software components and integration of open-source code to address complex problems using cutting-edge Big Data / Cloud technology.
• Work autonomously to identify and solve problems quickly, contributing to broader strategic goals set by Architects on the team.
• Design and implement core architecture and capabilities for software from prototype to operational applications.
• Develop and deploy infrastructure in AWS, leveraging modern tools for virtual infrastructure management.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Ansible, storage layers like Ceph, Rook, Longhorn, and programming skills in Go.
• Have a solid understanding of Linux systems, hosts, networks, security, applications, and proficiency in shell scripting.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and troubleshoot complex issues.
• Strong systems integrator with the ability to enhance, optimize, or increase robustness of an existing code base.

Requirements

• Security Clearance - Not required at start, but will be processed for a Secret level clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• 5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering or Software Development (Go) with a Bachelors in related field; OR 3 years relevant experience with a Masters in related field; OR High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
• Experience with infrastructure as code and modern tools to define, build, and manage virtual infrastructure in the cloud.
• Experience with Kubernetes (or vendor flavor of Kubernetes), Ansible, and storage layers like Ceph, Rook, Longhorn, etc.
• Programming skills with Go and a solid understanding of Linux systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and troubleshoot complex issues.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Flexibility to work in a hybrid environment, spending an average of 1-2 days per week at our Columbia, MD office.

Qualifications

• Must have experience developing and deploying infrastructure in AWS.
• Experience with Puppet, Ansible, Maven, and virtualization technologies like ovirt, proxmox, vmware, etc.
• DoD 8140 / 8570 IAT Level II compliance certifications may be required in this position as directed by the customer.

Skills

• Experience with DISA’s Big Data Platform or other Big Data systems (e.g. Cloudera’s Distribution of Hadoop, Hortonworks Data Platform, MapR, etc.).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Gitlab-CI, Travis-CI, Jenkins, etc.).
• Understanding of agile software development methodologies and use of standard software development tool suites (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Github, Gitlab, etc.).

Pay

Anticipated Salary Range: $111,662.00 - $145,000.00. The salary range for this role is intended as a good faith estimate based on the role's location, expectations, and responsibilities. When extending an offer, Enlighten takes a variety of factors into consideration including the role's function, internal equity, and a candidate's education or training, work experience, certifications, and key skills.

The role is performed in a hybrid environment with an average of 1-2 days per week spent at our Columbia, MD office.
