Platform Engineer
About the role
The Engineering Infrastructure team is seeking a skilled software engineer to join our growing team in RTP. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining the software stack for our infrastructure to ensure seamless CI/CD operations for Collaboration Devices. You will collaborate with product development teams in RTP to deliver a platform tailored to their specific technical requirements and unique deployment needs. Additionally, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain the software stack of our infrastructure to ensure seamless CI/CD operations for Collaboration Devices.
- Collaborate with product development teams in RTP to deliver a platform for their specific technical requirements and unique deployment needs.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance and reliability.
- Act as a key technical liaison in the US, bridging the gap between global infrastructure efforts and local product development priorities.
- Take part in delivering the market-leading video collaboration devices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's + 7 years of experience in software engineering or infrastructure development, or Master's + 4 years of experience.
- Expertise in Linux system administration (Ubuntu, RHEL/CentOS), including networking and storage integration.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Puppet or Ansible.
- Experience in Linux Containers and Kubernetes operation and troubleshooting.
- Strong skills in a few programming languages (preferably Python and Go).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Proxmox, Jenkins, Slurm, Ceph, and Elasticsearch.
- Experience with on-prem hosted infrastructure and bare-metal servers.
- Familiarity with Nix/NixOS environments.
- An analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
- A self-motivated individual with a track record of taking initiative to drive technical progress.
Benefits
This role offers a competitive salary range of $137,000.00 to $200,500.00, subject to location and performance. Pay
The starting salary range for this position is $137,000.00 to $200,500.00, reflecting the projected salary range for new hires in this position in U.S. and/or Canadian locations, not including incentive compensation, equity, or benefits.
