Role Overview
We are looking for a Mid-level Systems Administrator/Engineer to take ownership of day-to-day operations. You will partner with additional teams within the organization to protect the brand, data, and IT assets from cyber-based threats by deploying, configuring, managing, and maintaining technologies and infrastructure. Successful candidates will work independently, require a high level of attention to detail, and communicate effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the maintenance of IT and enterprise-class security applications and systems.
- Troubleshoot Linux and/or Windows server operating systems and the enterprise applications running on them.
- Deploy, optimize, and maintain enterprise security applications, on-premise, SaaS, and IaaS.
- Remediate vulnerabilities on Windows and/or Linux systems by monitoring, maintaining, patching, and administering all aspects of those systems.
- Contribute to and maintain internal engineering documentation such as tool documentation, procedures, and status updates.
- Renew and update TLS certificates on appliances and enterprise applications.
- Respond to audit and enterprise hardening requests.
- Monitor daily ticket queues for incidents and work ingestion.
- Participate in an on-call and after-hours rotation.
Required Qualifications
- Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in a large enterprise environment with a focus on change management.
- 3+ years of minimum experience as a System Administrator or a similar role.
- 3+ years of cybersecurity engineering or a related role.
- Experience with infrastructure management processes, including change management, problem management, and configuration management.
- Hands-on experience in an Agile, specifically Kanban, workflow.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding and ability to troubleshoot common Linux operating systems (Centos, Red hat, Ubuntu) or Windows server operating systems.
- Experience patching and upgrading Linux and Windows based operating systems, packages, and applications.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity principles as they apply to hardening enterprise-based systems.
- Basic scripting ability (Ansible, Python, Bash, PowerShell, Ruby, etc.) to automate routine tasks.
- Experience using or integrating SIEM technology.
- Knowledge of core network, firewall, routing, switching, load balancing, and proxy principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Ansible.
- Experience managing Linux-based Java/Tomcat COTS web applications in a clustered environment.
- Experience managing Windows .net based IIS COTS applications in a clustered environment.
- Experience managing physical or virtual appliances with limited Linux-based OS CLI interfaces.
- Ability to read and understand a packet capture.
- Experience using Jira/Confluence.
