Platform Architect

We are seeking an experienced Platform Architect to define and drive the technical vision for a modern cloud-native platform supporting multiple products and engineering teams. This individual will play a key role in establishing architectural standards, guiding platform strategy, and enabling teams to build scalable, secure, and highly available applications.ResponsibilitiesDefine and evolve enterprise platform architectureDesign cloud-native solutions using microservices, APIs, and event-driven architecturesEstablish technical standards, best practices, and reference architecturesLead platform modernization initiatives and cloud adoption effortsPartner with engineering, infrastructure, security, and product teamsConduct architecture reviews and provide technical leadership on major initiativesDesign reusable platform services, developer tooling, and shared frameworksDrive observability, reliability, scalability, and security best practicesMentor engineers and help shape technical roadmapsEvaluate emerging technologies, including AI-enabled platform capabilitiesRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field8+ years of software engineering, platform engineering, or architecture experienceExperience designing and supporting enterprise-scale cloud-native platformsStrong expertise in:Cloud Architecture (AWS, Azure, or GCP)Kubernetes and containerized applicationsMicroservices ArchitectureDistributed SystemsAPI Design and IntegrationEvent-Driven ArchitectureCI/CD and DevOps practicesIdentity and Access Management (IAM)Secure application designExperience building scalable, reliable, and highly available systemsStrong technical leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skillsHands-on development experience with technologies such as Java, Python, C#, Go, or TypeScriptPreferred QualificationsExperience in SaaS or healthcare technology environmentsExperience with platform modernization or large-scale cloud migration effortsKnowledge of service mesh, event streaming, and observability platformsExperience designing enterprise data platformsExperience evaluating or implementing AI and LLM-powered platform capabilitiesJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pittsburgh, PA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $65.00 - $70.00/hr.
