What will I do in this role?

Operate plate making and plate finishing machines to prepare printing plates.

Trim, scribe, and complete plates while ensuring production timelines are met.

Prioritize incoming jobs and plate remakes to avoid production delays.

Maintain and operate plate making equipment, including related systems.

File negatives and artwork accurately and efficiently.

Keep the plate room clean, organized, and fully stocked.

Reorder and restock supplies as needed.

Perform monthly inventory of platemaking supplies.

Track and report plate remakes (number and type).

Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and work instructions.

Support food safety requirements in alignment with Safe Quality Foods standards.

Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines and production goals.

Assist with additional duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, and fractions)
  • Ability to operate plate making and finishing equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain focus for extended periods
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Professional and friendly communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work overtime as needed

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for approximately 75% of the workday and walk for 20%
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Close vision required (clear focus at 20 inches or less)
