Job Description/Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, monitor, and troubleshoot plastic molding processes, including injection molding, blow molding, and other related processes.
- Adjust machine settings to maintain optimal performance, quality, and production output.
- Perform mold changeovers and machine calibrations as required.
- Monitor product quality, identify defects, and take corrective action to meet quality standards.
- Perform routine and minor preventive maintenance on molding machines and related equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions to ensure accurate setup.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve processes and reduce scrap.
- Accurately complete production, quality, and maintenance documentation, including ERP transactions.
- Train and support operators and new technicians on machine operation, safety, and best practices.
- Assist with new equipment installations, process improvements, and technology upgrades.
- Troubleshoot issues related to equipment, materials, and process flow to minimize downtime.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Plastic Process Technician, Machine Operator, or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of plastic molding processes such as injection molding, blow molding, or extrusion.
- Experience using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify product quality.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
- Strong troubleshooting, mechanical, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with quality control practices and SPC methods.
- Comfortable working with hand tools, machinery, and industrial equipment.
- Basic computer skills, including Windows-based systems and ERP platforms.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
