About the role
The Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Physician at CHI Health in Omaha, Nebraska, plays a crucial role in expanding clinical, research, and educational activities within the Department of Surgery and its Division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical delivery encompassing a wide breadth of reconstructive & cosmetic surgical cases in the setting of a large established referral base within the Department of Surgery, Primary Care, and growing Breast Cancer Surgery Center of Excellence, within a large integrated health care system.
- Play an integral role in expanding clinical, research, and educational activities within the Department of Surgery and its Division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery.
- Lead the CHI wide Plastic & Reconstructive delivery, quality, safety, and research initiatives.
- Work in an academic and teaching environment, educating Creighton University’s surgical residents and medical students, and conducting research in collaboration with scientists within CommonSpirit and Creighton University School of Medicine.
- Report to the Chair of Surgery at Creighton University and CHI Health.
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
- Board certification or eligibility in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
- Active or eligible license in the state of Nebraska
- Strong clinical skills with experience in programmatic development
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care
- Clinical and leadership experience and ideally academic activities commensurate with the rank of Associate Professor or Professor at Creighton University School of Medicine
Qualifications

- Expertise in clinical, academic, and educational domains in Level I Trauma, Breast Reconstruction, Body Contouring, Oncologic Reconstruction, Growing Head & Neck Program, General Face & Body Cosmetic surgery
- Experience in developing and managing clinical programs
- Ability to lead and mentor surgical residents and medical students
- Collaboration with scientists and researchers
- Leadership in quality, safety, and research initiatives
