About the role

The Plastic Injection Molding Supervisor Technician works in a team environment to coordinate the processing of materials and manufacturing of products. This individual directs production team members to develop an effective and efficient workforce, sets and processes injection molds according to scheduling priorities, and plays a vital role in scrap reduction, on-time deliveries, high-quality products, and machine efficiencies.

Responsibilities

  • Organizes and allocates team members based on production demands.
  • Coordinates and oversees training of team members.
  • Ensures conformity to production requirements, including stopping production to correct quality problems when needed.
  • Maintains a safe, clean, and orderly workplace in compliance with Vandor regulations and applicable laws.
  • Ensures team members work safely and comply with company employment guidelines.
  • Inspects machines and equipment to ensure operational performance and optimum utilization.
  • Directs team members to adhere to policies, procedures, work instructions, and record-keeping.
  • Communicates and coordinates production staffing needs with the human resources team.
  • Ensures materials are maintained for production and changes material when applicable.
  • Troubleshoots processes to ensure quality standards are met during production.
  • Maintains awareness of impact on product quality and compliance with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards.
  • Complies with safety regulations and maintains clean work areas.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Supervises production team members.

Requirements

  • Two to four years of manufacturing experience.
  • Two years of injection molding experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Skills

  • Ability to read, comprehend, and write English for safety, job responsibilities, and essential communication.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong reasoning skills, including problem analysis and solution implementation.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift, push, and/or pull objects weighing up to 75 pounds consistently, with heavier weights occasionally required.
  • Must be able to walk, stand, bend, and twist for extended periods.

Work Environment

  • 3rd shift, full-time position.
  • Fast-paced manufacturing environment that is not temperature regulated.
  • Environment may be loud, requiring hearing protection in some areas.
  • Personal protective equipment is required as defined by the hazard analysis for this position.

Pay

$26.00–$32.00 per hour, with perfect attendance and shift premium incentives.
