Plasma Spray Technician - 2nd Shift
Williams International has an opportunity for a Plasma/Flame Spray Technician to join our 3rd Shift team in the 8546 Multi-Stage IP Rotor cell. The Special Process Technician is responsible for the operation, inspection, and testing of all types of processes, parts, and activities, with a focus on Flame Spray and Plasma Spray. This role ensures parts are manufactured and tested in accordance with engineering and customer standards, maintains accurate documentation, and supports the continuous flow of materials through the assigned cell.
Responsibilities
- Operate and inspect Flame Spray and Plasma Spray processes, parts, and activities.
- Manufacture and/or test parts according to engineering and customer standards and specifications.
- Maintain accurate and reliable documentation and records.
- Remove burrs, sharp edges, tool marks, and other irregularities from machined parts to meet engineering blueprints and tolerance requirements.
- Maintain proper identification of parts per planning specifications.
- Communicate shift-change requirements to ensure team members receive accurate information.
- Perform routine maintenance of machines and equipment.
- Clean, organize, and maintain the cellular manufacturing work area in accordance with established standards.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED and a minimum of six months experience in Flame Spray or Plasma Spray.
- Effective interaction with team members, customers, and all levels of management.
- Ability to read, understand, and correctly interpret basic blueprint drawings.
- Capable of lifting 50 lbs. from floor to waist (must use a lift assist or assistance for weights exceeding 50 lbs.).
- Capable of pushing or pulling a weight of 60 lbs.
- Grip strength of at least 50 lbs.
- U.S. citizenship is required; position may require the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
