Plant Technician - ES 825

About the role

Technicians work in an outside warehouse environment. Their primary responsibilities include loading and unloading drums, totes, and containers of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials from trucks. They sample the contents of these containers and consolidate drum contents into larger containers for processing. They operate a Forklift under company safety standards, which do not require a forklift license, but company-provided training is provided. Other job-related duties may be assigned or become apparent.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload drums, totes, and containers of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials from trucks.
• Sample the contents of drums, totes, and containers.
• Consolidate drum contents into larger containers for processing.
• Operate a Forklift under company safety standards.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.

Requirements

• Ability to use heavy and light equipment, such as forklift and pallet jack.
• Skilled in using hand and shop tools and instruments.
• Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail.
• Must be able to prioritize, stay focused, and handle multiple, diverse responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license may be required for some positions.
• Current 40-hour HAZWOPER certification strongly preferred.
• Training or ability to pass a 40-hour HAZWOPER course upon hire.
