Plant Technician
Job Description
Key Accountabilities:
- Assisting/performing troubleshooting of plant equipment
- Preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure proper functioning
- Daily maintenance, construction, demolition, overhauls, repair /replacement and removal/installation of plant equipment and structures
- Provides skills for maintaining equipment at the plant
- Clearances in LOTOV under the direction of a senior operator or supervisor
- Utilizes/operates various types of hand, power, precision or machine tools necessary to support safe and productive work environments
- Maintains a working knowledge of all electronic control systems and computers
- Understands and follows current safety and environmental regulations necessary to conduct all phases of work
- Ensures strict adherence to safety, health and environmental procedures as they relate to plant operations and maintenance including but not limited to Lockout Tagout, Job Safety Analysis, Confined Space, Hot Work, Electrical Safety and PPE
Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements
- 2 - 4 years of related experience
- Satisfactory completion of Tier 1 job performance measures composed of basic: Operations, Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrument and Controls
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent
- Demonstrate standard computer based skills
- Demonstrate effective oral & verbal communications skills
- If applicable, candidate must meet the requirement of PT1-ES
- Successful completion of POSS/MASS exam REQUIRED prior to interview

- Progression of skill within primary skill set
- Satisfactory completion of Tier 2 job performance measures predominately composed of Sign-offs of demonstrating different primary and auxiliary system operations and maintenance relevant to primary skill
- Demonstrate continual self improvement in job skills and knowledge
About the Role
This position requires basic operational knowledge of all plant systems and the ability to operate equipment within specifications and environmental regulations. The role works under the direction of skilled Plant Technicians.
Responsibilities
Responsible for continuing to learn the proper function and perform maintenance of equipment at a Gas Plant for the Gas fleet. Responsible for promoting safe, effective, and reliable operation.

Required duties depend upon the particular field requiring skills for advancement. Also involves providing skills for maintaining equipment at the plant, performing clearances in LOTOV under the direction of a senior operator or supervisor, utilizing/operating various types of hand, power, precision or machine tools, maintaining a working knowledge of all electronic control systems and computers, understanding and following current safety and environmental regulations, ensuring strict adherence to safety, health and environmental procedures as they relate to plant operations and maintenance, including but not limited to Lockout Tagout, Job Safety Analysis, Confined Space, Hot Work, Electrical Safety and PPE.
Qualifications
Requires 2 - 4 years of related experience, satisfactory completion of Tier 1 job performance measures, high school diploma or GED, standard computer based skills, and effective oral & verbal communications skills. If applicable, candidate must meet the requirement of PT1-ES and successfully complete the POSS/MASS exam prior to interview.
