Plant Technician
Job Description
Inspects, repairs, and maintains various types of plant equipment.
Understands and is able to ensure proper operation of the plant.
Repairs and calibrates equipment.
Troubleshots equipment and systems.
Ensures strict adherence to safety, health, and environmental procedures as they relate to plant operations and maintenance including but not limited to Lockout Tagout, Job Safety Analysis, Confined Space, Hot Work, Electrical Safety and PPE.
Performs technical work or analysis of processes in areas of expertise.
Gains knowledge of the entire plant cycle and how it functions.
Key Accountabilities
- Assists/Performs troubleshooting of plant equipment, preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure proper functioning, daily maintenance, construction, demolition, overhauls, repair /replacement and removal/installation of plant equipment and structures.
- Maintains equipment at the plant.
- Provides skills for maintaining equipment at the plant.
- Utilizes/operates various types of hand, power, precision or machine tools necessary to support safe and productive work environments.
- Understands and follows current safety and environmental regulations necessary to conduct all phases of work.
- Safely tests and utilizes a respirator for handling aqueous ammonia and fit test annually.
Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements
- Minimum 1 year industry related Gas Turbine Combined Cycle Power Plant, or equivalent, experience required.
- Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Demonstrate effective oral and verbal communications skills.
- Demonstrate standard computer based skills.

About the Role
This position requires a minimum of 1 year industry related Gas Turbine Combined Cycle Power Plant, or equivalent, experience and a High School diploma or equivalent.
Qualifications
Must pass the Plant Operator Selection System/Power Plant Operations and Maintenance (POSS / MASS) exam.
