Plant Sanitation Technician - 1st Shift

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of the manufacturing environment.
  • Comply with all company Quality, HACCP, GMP, and Food Safety standards.
  • Maintain strict compliance in PPE for extended periods of time.
  • Understand the use and proper titrations of approved chemicals for the sanitation process and distribute plantwide.
  • Sanitize equipment and utensils using water pressure hose and chemicals.
  • Perform and document Sanitation duties as outlined by Master Sanitation checklists.
  • Interact with Sanitation Supervisors and Leads to prioritize specific projects and evaluate the progress of work.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Quality Control, and Maintenance departments on cleaning procedures and projects.
  • Operate Power Scrubbers and PIT equipment (Pallet Jack, Fork Truck, Scissor Lifts, etc.).
  • Assist with recycling disposal program and general waste management.
  • Safely operate tray washing machine.
  • Respond to radio calls for cleanup assistance as needed.

  • Basic computer skills
  • Must be able to stand for 8 – 12 hours per day with applicable breaks
  • Able to lift, carry, bend, push, pull, and twist frequently as needed
  • Able to walk long distances and walk-up flights of stairs for an 8-hour period
  • Able to operate floor and parts cleaning equipment
  • Willingness to work at heights of up to 30 feet in the air
  • Able to operate forklift, electric pallet jack, and scissor lift
  • Able to work with industrial cleaning chemicals for extended periods of time
  • Willingness to perform custodial duties when assigned
  • Able to sweep and mop large areas by hand
  • Able to wear PPE attire when handling chemicals
  • Withstand getting wet from washing machinery for extended periods of time
  • Prior experience in food manufacturing setting is not necessary but preferred
  • Prior experience in kitchen, manufacturing, or medical environment sanitation strongly preferred
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write in English
  • Regular and timely attendance
