About the role

We are seeking a Quality Engineer (1st Shift) to join our team in Goodfield, Illinois. In this role, you will be responsible for activities related to quality including planning, implementation, and sustainment of the company Quality Management System.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement programs to establish and maintain quality standards of existing products and services, as well as focus employees on quality improvement.
  • Work with Quality Supervisor and Techs to conduct inspections on products, materials, components, parts, etc., at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with established quality and reliability standards.
  • Analyze statistical data from processes to either confirm compliance with established standards or identify deviations from standards.
  • Develop, assure, and maintain the quality of products and processes, including standard procedures (e.g., ISO 9001:2000), quality audits/review, Taguchi methods, process reengineering, etc.
  • Develop policies, procedures, and methods to evaluate and improve the quality of products, materials, components, and/or operations.
  • Recommend new or enhanced methods, procedures, and standards to improve process and product quality.
  • Work with suppliers to identify root causes of quality issues, implement, and monitor countermeasures.
  • Lead projects to solve issues related to warranty and plant scrap using PDCA/Kaizen approach.
  • Work with the Logistics area to secure the production department by containing defective parts.
  • Coordinate the Incoming Inspection process, including continuous improvement activities to reduce incoming inspection cost (8 Stages of Incoming Material).
  • Coordinate the PPAP Process.
  • Manage Material Review Board and scrap cost.
  • Manage workload in a high-pace manufacturing environment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Math, or Statistics.
  • Two (2) or more years of Quality Assurance experience in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Good communication skills and ability to communicate with different levels of employees in the organization.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft programs (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).

Pay

The annual salary for this role is USD $86,625.00 - $115,000.00 plus any applicable bonus. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role.
