Plant Project Manager
About the role
The Plant Project Manager supports and contributes to all maintenance and engineering functions at the plant site.
Responsibilities
- Direct the engineering function and maintenance activities, including implementing and monitoring preventative maintenance (PM) programs and developing capital projects for continuous improvement of plant facilities.
- Coordinate all modifications, additions, and repair projects in the plant, including those performed by outside contractors and corporate staff.
- Supervise and direct the scheduling of hourly and salaried personnel assigned to maintenance and labor functions, including skilled journeymen performing mechanical and electrical maintenance and repairs.
- Direct environmental activities related to air, water, hazardous, and solid waste, ensuring compliance with appropriate governmental agencies.
- Assist in establishing a safe and healthy environment throughout the facilities, striving for zero accidents and complying with governmental regulations.
- Establish and assist with the administration of training for apprentices and update journeymen as necessary.
- Perform administrative activities necessary for effective department management, including establishing working relationships with plant employees, the union, other departments, and corporate.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
- Five (5) years of experience in manufacturing with exposure to and understanding of environmental compliance.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a team-based environment.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
- Effective planning and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to travel up to 5%.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous supervisory or management experience of a technical team.
- Previous experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
