Job Summary

The Plant Operations III Craft Worker at St. Francis–Emory Healthcare performs preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment, structures, and systems throughout the healthcare facility. Responsibilities include light carpentry, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance work to ensure safe, functional, and compliant operations. The technician may also support environmental and fire safety systems, equipment installation, and emergency repairs as needed.

Responsibilities

• Installs, tests, maintains, and repairs facility machinery, equipment, and systems
• Performs utility, structural, and surface repairs, including drywall, painting, doors, flooring, and cabinetry
• Cleans and clears sewer and drainage systems using mechanical tools as needed
• Operates equipment such as dump trucks, snow plows, farm tractors, and ladders safely
• Maintains logs, completes documentation, and tracks materials for audits and reporting
• Moves furniture, equipment, and materials across departments or storage

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent, including education equivalent to completion of secondary school or demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the role. Postsecondary (Cert/Diploma/Program Grad) from a trade school in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, millwright, or maintenance technology (Preferred)
• Licenses/Certifications: Certificate from a trade school in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, millwright, or maintenance technology (Upon Hire, preferred)
• Experience: Relevant experience in maintenance or facility operations (Required)
