Plant Operator (Lost Creek)

About the role

Work for one of the premier employers in Wyoming at the Lost Creek Project north of Rawlins. Join the Lost Creek Team as a Plant Operator. Lost Creek Plant Operators perform work essential to the processing of uranium at the Lost Creek facility, operating all systems in the uranium processing plant (IX, Elution, Precipitation, Filtration, Drying, Packaging, Water Treatment and Reagents) and maintaining regulatory compliance. This is a shift work position. Ur-Energy is an innovative, industry-leading ISR uranium company operating the Lost Creek mine in south‑central Wyoming; production began in 2013 and to date ~2.7 Mlbs U3O8 have been produced. A second Wyoming project, Shirley Basin, is construction‑ready.

Responsibilities

• Operate all systems in the uranium processing plant (IX, Elution, Precipitation, Filtration, Drying, Packaging, Water Treatment and Reagents)
• Maintain regulatory compliance in plant operations
• Monitor and operate the circuits of a uranium recovery processing plant
• Collect samples and perform basic laboratory functions, using results in facility operation
• Collect and record data
• Perform routine inspections and minor repairs
• Identify additional maintenance needs
• Communicate with other facility teams to ensure a productive and safe work environment

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and/or six months or more related experience and training
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Currently legally authorized to work in the United States

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Basic math skills
• Ability to operate pumps manually or via computer systems to transfer fluids/chemicals and produced material within plant systems to achieve production goals
