General Summary
Operates and maintains an operational engineering plant providing services like heat, air conditioning, steam, and electricity.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Observes and interprets gauges and meters to monitor boiler operations and CEP plant performance.
- Adjusts controls to ensure safe and efficient plant operations meeting utility demands.
- Logs system operations to keep plant equipment in good working order.
- Maintains records and logs of various system aspects.
- Repairs and assists in repairing rotating machinery, steam systems, compressed gases, and water treatment systems.
- Treats cooling tower and boiler water with chemicals and analyzes water for acidity, conductivity, hardness, biological growth, and alkalinity.
- Maintains cleanliness and appearance of the plant.
- Assists other members of the maintenance team as needed.
Knowledge, Experience And Skill Requirements
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience with computer software programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- High School Graduate or technical/trade school certificate in related field preferred.
- American Society of Power Engineers, Power Plant Engineers 3rd Class Operator License required (obtainable within 6 months).
- TCPA Class A and Class B UST Training Certification required (obtainable within 6 months).
Knowledge, Experience And Skill Requirements (continued)
- Knowledge of Facility Computerized Maintenance Management System software (CMMS) highly desired.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop, kneel, climb ladders, stand for long periods, and extend arms.
- Occasional exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, and minor safety hazards.
- Pass a local background check and obtain NAC/LAC clearance after hire.
Work Environment
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop, kneel, climb ladders, stand for long periods, and extend arms.
- May involve minor safety hazards where likely results would be cuts, bruises, etc.
Pay and Benefits
The minimum pay rate for this position is $33.44 per hour. This position may also be eligible for a wide range of competitive benefits including medical, well-being, financial planning, and short-term incentives benefits.
