Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates technical knowledge depth for mechanical, utilities and associated systems according to standards established by management team.
  • Can identify different types of mechanical specific tools and materials and how to use them, basic math skills.
  • Performs general maintenance repairs and other duties as assigned as referenced in Unit Specific Competency Check List and performs any work assignment in conjunction with the skill sets required of the job, not necessarily within craft line.
  • Responds to emergency situations including disaster response, power I other utilities loss, floods, etc. to limit effect to facility.
  • Ensures that all work is performed using the proper PPE to ensure a safe environment including Arc Flash.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the ability to perform basic power and hand tool skills.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and use of power tools utilized in construction trades; uses power tools safely and properly maintains power tools.
  • Responsible for safe and proper operation as noted in Unit Specific Competency Check.
  • Demonstrates the ability to use maintenance equipment including hand-held power tools, computers for building automation and computerized maintenance management systems, and to resource with others effectively.
  • Provides complete documentation as required by management and for authorities having jurisdiction specifically including but not limited to work order documentation.
  • Performs basic infection prevention procedures.
  • Identifies changes that are needed on all prints and notifies supervisor when changes are made to existing spaces and new projects.
  • Demonstrates ability to work from blueprint and estimate projects and create a bill of materials.
  • Plans, organizes and coordinates small projects.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills required for a Third-Grade Stationary Engineer's license.
  • Aids in, oversees and/or inspects repairs or modifications performed by contractors.
  • Manages individual inventory following departmental inventory management and control parameters.
  • Maintains mechanical related equipment and procedure documentation manuals.
  • Performs other duties as needed for the hospital within expectations established by management.
  • Identifies different types of solder and their usage.
  • Identifies different mechanical specific materials and their application.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of components and functionality of a condensate pump.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License.
  • Eight (8) years Experience Chiller/Boiler Service Related Technician is required.
  • Ability to work various work shifts and/or weekends as needed.
  • Ability to travel between other Moffitt Cancer Center facilities.
  • Evidence of a good driving record and maintain a good record per Moffitt policy.
  • Preferred: Three (3) years Hospital Maintenance preferred.
  • One (1) year high-rise Mechanical and/or Utilities systems experience preferred.
  • Stationary Engineer's License is preferred.
