Plant Operator I

About the role

We are hiring a Plant Operator in New Berlin, WI. The ideal candidate will handle and fill gas products into various cylinders, ensuring compliance with regulations and standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities

• Safely handle and fill gas products into liquid, medical, and high-pressure gas cylinders.
• Meet all safety standards during loading and unloading of cylinder gases.
• Perform cylinder analyses and support alignment with government and company standards.
• Calculate gas mixtures to meet quality standards and document results.
• Identify and coordinate cylinder and valve combinations to ensure compatibility with the mix and compliance with regulations.
• Operate control panels with precision to manage gas mixtures.
• Complete all necessary records to accurately capture production actions.
• Uphold and promote company procedures and government regulations regarding the safe handling of hazardous materials.
• Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse/material-handling equipment.
• Load/unload cylinders on/off pallets, ensuring they are properly secured.
• Contribute to team success as needed.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Lives by Airgas safety programs, OSHA, and relevant regulations.
• A minimum of 1 year of related technical experience.
• Prior experience utilizing SAP or similar ERP systems preferred.
• Intermediate knowledge of Google Suite or Microsoft Office applications.
• Demonstrated knowledge of basic math operations in all units of measure.

Qualifications

• In lieu of specific industry experience, may accept an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior experience utilizing SAP or similar ERP systems preferred.
• Intermediate knowledge of Google Suite or Microsoft Office applications.
• Demonstrated knowledge of basic math operations in all units of measure.
