Salary: $24.88 - $37.32 hourly / $51,755 - $77,633 annually. This position is a Pay Band C6 and may be used for ongoing recruitment.
About the role
This position provides services related to the operation and maintenance of high and low pressure steam and hot water boilers as well as laundry equipment.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain high-pressure boilers daily and document appropriately.
- Perform daily inspections of equipment.
- Reduce and/or eliminate hazards common to the trade and prevent safety problems.
Customers
Patients, clients, residents, and employees.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Six months of experience in the operation or maintenance of mechanical equipment for building or industrial utilities, construction experience including familiarity with building codes and regulations, basic electrical, plumbing, ventilation, maintenance, or custodial operations, or building trade experience.
- Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience totaling six months may substitute for the required experience.
- Must possess and maintain a Driver’s License.
- Must obtain a Defensive Driving Certificate.
- Boiler Operator License (ideal candidate will be certified).
Working Conditions
- Walking, lifting, working in inclement weather, standing on ladders, working in confined spaces and at heights, indoors and outdoors.
- Requires good coordination, physical strength, endurance, hearing, sight, and ability to communicate both written and verbally.
- Driving a motor vehicle is required.
- May be exposed to hazards of power equipment, dust, chemicals, fumes, boiler, and high noise levels.
- Daily communication and interaction with residents, staff, and the public.
- Occasional travel for trainings or meetings.
- Subject to 24-hour call and rotating weekends.
- Working hours may include weekends, holidays, callbacks, and overtime.

Pay
$24.88 - $37.32 hourly / $51,755 - $77,633 annually.
