Machine Operator

Responsibilities
- Set up and operate the Mazak Optiplex Laser Table, Hydmech Saws, Python-X Plasma Cutter, and Alltra Plasma & Oxy-Fuel Table
- Read and interpret production documentation, work orders, and material specifications
- Accurately measure and identify materials using tape measures, squares, calipers, and micrometers
- Load programs and verify machine settings prior to production
- Perform preventive maintenance on assigned equipment
- Replace consumables, saw blades, and machine components as needed
- Operate handheld torch and plasma cutting equipment
- Label and track materials moving through the production process
- Safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes
- Utilize hand tools such as grinders, wrenches, and band cutters
- Assist with material preparation, grinding operations, and workflow support
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Train team members on equipment operation and departmental procedures as needed
Requirements
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure
- Basic math skills, including measurements and calculations
- Ability to obtain Overhead Crane Certification within the first 90 days of employment
- Ability to obtain Forklift Certification within the first 90 days of employment
- Working knowledge of measuring instruments including tape measures, squares, calipers, and micrometers
- Proficiency using hand tools, grinders, forklifts, overhead cranes, and lifting devices
- Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity
- Effective communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated strong work ethic and commitment to quality workmanship
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Prior experience operating industrial manufacturing or material-processing equipment preferred
- Experience operating laser cutting, plasma cutting, sawing, or similar fabrication equipment is highly desirable
- Experience using hand tools, grinders, forklifts, and lifting devices
- Ability to read blueprints and perform quality inspections
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity and quality standards
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Prior experience operating industrial manufacturing or material-processing equipment preferred
- Experience operating laser cutting, plasma cutting, sawing, or similar fabrication equipment is highly desirable
- Experience using hand tools, grinders, forklifts, and lifting devices
- Ability to read blueprints and perform quality inspections
