Plant Operator (Cylinder Filler/Loader)

The Plant Operator will safely handle and fill gas products into liquid, medical, and high-pressure gas cylinders in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and meet the standard operating procedures of Airgas. The role involves meeting all safety standards in the loading and unloading of cylinder gases, performing cylinder analyses, and supporting alignment with government and company standards. You will calculate gas mixtures to contribute to quality standards, document results, and ensure mixtures can be safely made. The position includes identifying and coordinating cylinder and valve combinations for compatibility and compliance, operating control panels with valves and pressure gauges, and using scales with a precision-oriented approach to gas mixtures. You will complete records to accurately capture production actions, uphold company procedures and government regulations for safe handling of hazardous materials, and safely operate a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse/material-handling equipment. Additional duties include loading/unloading cylinders on/off pallets, ensuring they are strapped in, and contributing to team success as needed.
Responsibilities

- Safely operate a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse/material-handling equipment.
- Load/unload cylinders on/off pallets, ensuring they are strapped in.
- Contribute to team success as needed.
Requirements
- High school degree or GED required.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Commitment to Airgas safety programs, OSHA, and all related rules, regulations, and procedures.
- A minimum of 1 year of related technical experience. In lieu of specific industry experience, may accept an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience utilizing SAP or similar ERP system.
- Intermediate knowledge of Google Suite or Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrated knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratios, and percent.
