About the role
We are hiring a Lead Plant Operator in Ankeny, IA for the role of Cylinder Loader/Filler. The position involves handling and filling gas products into various types of cylinders, adhering to federal, state, and local regulations, and maintaining standard operating procedures.
Responsibilities
- Performs cylinder analyses and ensures alignment with government and company standards.
- Calculates gas mixtures to achieve quality standard goals and documents results.
- Selects cylinders and valve combinations to ensure compatibility with the mix and compliance.
- Partners with team members in operating control panels, valves, and pressure gauges to accurately measure gas mixtures.
- Delivers thoughtful service to customers by meeting all special product requests.
- Completes all necessary documentation to accurately record all production actions.
- Safeguards the safety of the production of cylinder gases by supporting all safety standards and assisting with internal audits.
- Takes care in evaluating cylinders before filling, following standard procedures as required by government, Airgas, and distributor standards.
- Safely operates a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse/material-handling equipment.
- Loads/unloads cylinders on/off pallets, ensuring they are strapped in.
- Contributes to other team priorities as needed.
Requirements
- A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
- One year of related technical experience.
- Intermediate knowledge of Google Suite or Microsoft Office applications.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic arithmetic operations.
- Lives by Airgas safety programs, OSHA, and all related rules, regulations, and procedures applicable to this position's responsibilities.
Qualifications
