About the role
The Plant Operator is responsible for the daily operations of the facility’s central energy plant, and the main plumbing, electrical, and HVAC system. Utilizing a working knowledge of boilers, chillers, and other plant equipment, the plant Operator ensures the plant consistently runs efficiently, safely, and smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Operate boilers in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring proper water chemistry, alternative fuel operations, and safety equipment functionality.
- Operate the chiller plant in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring proper operating pressures, temperature differentials, and water chemistry.
- Operate medical gas source equipment in a safe and efficient manner ensuring proper operating parameters, equal equipment run times, and safety equipment functionality.
- Operate air distribution equipment (AHUs) in a safe efficient manner, ensuring proper air pressurization, space temperatures, and equipment cleanliness.
- Interact with facility management leadership for reporting.
- Monitor the plant equipment to ensure it remains in optimal working order, and repair or replace equipment as it becomes necessary.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in the engineering-related field or Associates’ Degree in engineering-related field or trade/technical certification
- 3+ years of experience in Plant Operations
- High school diploma or GED, 5+ years’ experience in Plant Operations
- Experience in Plant Operations in an acute care setting
