Plant Operations Technician

Responsibilities

  • Review and monitor plant operation/processes for optimizing quality and production of products meeting required data specifications, including working safely and troubleshooting mechanical equipment (natural gas internal combustion engines, natural gas compressors, electrical and pneumatic controls, pumps, and control equipment).
  • Install equipment such as pumps, motors, and valves and perform general maintenance when needed.
  • Operate cryogenics plant, stabilizer, amine, and glycol treatment systems.
  • Collect data readings and monitor plant equipment.
  • Perform minor maintenance on compressors and install equipment such as pumps, motors, and valves.
  • Fill out applicable work/hot work permits, lockout/tag-out documentation, and participate in tailgate sessions.
  • Perform routine shutdowns and startups of equipment and execute emergency procedures when required.
  • Act as relief operator as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of related midstream work experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work 12-hour rotating (day/night) shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record satisfactory to the company.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and respond to call-outs as needed.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills to interface with teams, personnel, and vendors.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimum supervision and a strong work ethic.
  • Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office Software.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in changing climate conditions and close quarters (e.g., kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, standing).
  • Follow and adhere to all applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines (e.g., eye protection, footwear, Nomex).
  • Regular and reliable attendance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in the industry or knowledge of plant operations.
  • Understanding of utilizing horsepower and compression.
  • Warehouse knowledge and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and process failures.
  • Process Safety Management knowledge.

Schedule

12-hour rotating (day/night) shifts, including weekends and holidays.
