About the Role
The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Maintenance Director with the maintenance and repair program involving buildings and grounds. You will also coordinate maintenance and repair activities with other departments, following current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, as well as Solaris Healthcare’s established policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, operate, and repair heating and cooling, plumbing, water, gas, electrical, mechanical, oxygen, communications, carpentry, painting, plastering, refinishing, and similar work
- Perform heavy-duty cleaning, grounds care, and maintenance of institutional equipment and vehicles
- Requisition supplies and equipment for department activities
- Keep records of work performed and costs involved
- Assist in coordinating maintenance department functions to avoid interrupting patient care or normal business operations
- Inspect all equipment and systems regularly for proper functioning and safety
- Be on call for emergencies
- Maintain grounds, parking lots, driveways, including gardening, landscaping, clean-up, and trash removal
- Perform custodial duties such as scrubbing, buffing, cleaning storage areas, washing walls, and removing garbage
- Run errands, handle incoming and outgoing freight, lift and move heavy furniture and equipment
- Maintain care and use of supplies and equipment
- Keep adequate records and cooperate with others
- Adhere to proper dress codes and maintain personal cleanliness
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- HVAC Certification preferred
- Knowledge of the TELS Maintenance Program a plus
- Experience in the Healthcare Industry a plus
- Must pass Florida AHCA Clearinghouse background screening
