Plant Manager, Grand Island
About The Role
The Plant Manager is responsible for the overall management, direction and coordination of plant operations in carrying out company objectives at the lowest cost consistent with safety and quality requirements. We aim to delight consumers & customers with our food and nothing we do is worth getting hurt for.
What you’ll be doing
- Oversee overall plant operations including safety, finance, manufacturing, manufacturing engineering, materials, quality assurance / control, information systems, environment, public, supplier, government and customer relations
- Ensure positive relations and a highly collaborative approach with internal/external stakeholders and community
- Proactively foster and promote the safe work habits of employees. Ensure safety policies and procedures are followed
- Active participation in health & safety initiatives, take a lead role in safety optimization in the drive towards zero incidents. Lead positive safety culture, and safety engagement
- Lead and oversee cost commitments, SCA – Sustainable Cost Advantage, overhead and direct cost budgets for each fiscal year championing continuous improvement through the active engagement of the plant team members in overall capability building
- Champion a growth mindset and Talent development focus for the facility, leading key activities and ensuring targeted development and overall organizational effectiveness and ensures all departments are working together to realize McCain objectives
- Ensure audit ready compliance focused on food safety, environmental policies, site emergency preparedness and crisis management
What you’ll need to be successful
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in one of the following disciplines: Engineering, Science or Business or a related field
- A minimum of 8+ years’ leadership experience
- A minimum of 8+ years’ of proven manufacturing experience in a food or beverage setting
- Ability to lead and develop a team in a collaborative and customer focused way that equally drives results and engagement
- Ensures accountability to safety practices and principles for both our employees and products
- Embody our Company values; authentic, committed, and trusted, focusing on doing the right thing and building genuine relationships with customers, colleagues and stakeholders
- Deep understanding of financial practices and continuous improvement

McCain Foods, Grand Island is a 24 hour, 7 day a week facility with over 400+ team members producing over 400,000 lbs. of onion rings daily.

Compensation Package
$146,200.00 - $195,000.00 . USD annually + Bonus eligibility + Long-term incentive eligibility
