About the role

The Plant Manager will manage and guide the Lead Team in achieving optimal plant performance while ensuring the safety of employees, with direct responsibility for the operational and financial performance of the Monett Cast location.

Responsibilities

• Leads and coordinates production in accordance with policies, principles, and procedures established by the Regional Leader.
• Develops plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees, guiding day-to-day manufacturing operations across the facility.
• Confers with customers, suppliers, sales, and others in the Company to evaluate production and distribution performance.
• Manages subordinate managers who supervise department managers/supervisors and employees, including HSE, HR, Plant Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, Casting Operations, Materials Management, and Supply Chain.
• Responsible for own health, security, and safety, and contributes to a safe, secure, and healthy working environment, aligning with the Company’s safety and environmental obligations and goals.
• Evaluates and performs functions related to staffing, quality, delivery, unit production, and cost of manufacturing.
• Fosters an environment that promotes continuous improvement through responsible department interaction and process development.
• Works directly with plant engineering and maintenance to implement proper preventive maintenance programs and improve environmental control.
• Approves requisitions for equipment, materials, and supplies within the location’s operating budget.
• Enforces compliance with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules, and governmental regulations.
• Responsible for the growth and development of manufacturing talent in the area of responsibility.
• Reviews production costs and product quality, modifying production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation.
• Benchmarks with other plants within HALNA and the industry to evaluate plant performance.
• Recommends budgets and capital requests to management.
• Resolves employee complaints and grievances, promoting healthy labor management practices.
• Carries out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, defining training requirements, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, conducting HLDP reviews, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
• Directs and sets objectives with the team to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives based on status and conditions.
• Confers and cooperates with other management personnel in formulating administrative and operational policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years’ manufacturing management experience.
• A degree in Industrial Engineering and Business, or a minimum of 10 years’ related experience and training.
• Strong leadership experience, managing large teams preferably in industrial environments.
• 30% travel to regional meetings, BRMs, and ENA plant visits.

Qualifications

• Financial acumen.
• Knowledge of ISO/QS standards.
• Demonstrated ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Over five years’ proven experience effectively presenting information and responding to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public, as well as writing reports, business correspondence, and procedures.
• Over five years’ proven experience working with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, fundamentals of plane and solid geometry, and trigonometry.
• Ability to read and understand all work and safety instructions relevant to the specific area of responsibility.
• Fluency in English is required; other languages are an asset.
