About the role

As a Plant Manager reporting to the Director of Operations USA/Canada, you will have full P&L responsibility and oversight of Production Engineering, Logistics & Operational Excellence, Controlling, Human Resources, and all other functional departments for the MAHLE Tilbury site. You will foster a highly functioning ONE-MAHLE team culture, develop short-, mid-, and long-term business strategies, manage budgeting, cost reduction, warranty, staffing, safety, and labor relations to achieve organizational performance in line with our strategic plan.

  • Assist with the establishment and execution of the strategic long-range plan while identifying and supporting short-term objectives for BU2 North America.
  • Create roadmaps for Operations, Operational Excellence, Logistics, and Production Engineering, including comprehensive analysis and prioritization of key opportunities for sustainable increases in productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist with the analysis and prioritization of key opportunities for locations, including areas outside of direct scope (Engineering, Purchasing, Controlling, HR). Engage cross-functional and cross-Business Unit members to execute initiatives driving sustainable results.
  • Work closely with Executive Staff, including Plant Managers, to drive cultural transformation by building effective matrix teams and fostering involvement and talent multiplication.
  • Oversee the development of key performance indicators (KPIs) and manage escalated issues related to manufacturing, logistics, operational excellence, and production engineering.
  • Lead strategic, complex process improvement projects and deliver results through Lean/Six Sigma methodologies and effective change management.
  • Support improvement initiatives, workshops, and projects using lean techniques such as Kaizen, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Single Minute Exchange of Die (SMED), 8-D, Problem Solving, and Value Analysis to enhance throughput time, flexibility, quality, and value.
  • Maintain a culture of disciplined and systematic process management, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Serve as a leader of change and innovation, challenging the status quo, influencing others at all organizational levels to embrace change, and implementing outstanding ideas.
  • Establish measurement systems to identify opportunities and quantify implemented improvements.
  • Perform all other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in production operations management, Engineering, Business, or related discipline is required; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 15+ years of experience, including experience in manufacturing processes, with 10+ years in progressive levels of management for a Tier 1 global or multinational company as a Plant Manager.
  • Proven track record of delivering strategic results and executing effective change management.
  • Well-developed leadership and project management capabilities with demonstrated success in completing core-business, cross-functional, and cross-cultural projects.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of P&L management.
  • Excellent vision regarding benchmarking and year-over-year progress.

Pay

Compensation range: $175,000 - $225,000.
