Responsibilities
- Optimize daily production operations to fully utilize equipment, materials, and staffing resources, maximizing efficiency and quality.
- Establish and maintain operational standards through development and review of policies and procedures, direction of Production Supervisors and plant operators, and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure team member safety by enforcing health and safety policies/protocols and promoting a safety culture.
- Lead the development, execution, and monitoring of the operations strategy in line with overall operational objectives to achieve performance, quality, and safety improvements and manufacturing goals.
- Accountable for plant-level production costs, labor utilization, yield results, safety performance, turnover, and OTIF (On-Time In-Full).
- Ensure adherence to Food Safety requirements and Good Manufacturing Practices, including meeting audit targets.
- Utilize data such as OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), line speed targets, efficiency, and process data to continuously improve productivity, uptime, and reliability.
- Develop, recommend, and implement Capital Improvements for the plant, including preparation and execution of a Capital Plant budget.
- Meet or exceed customer service level targets by synchronizing processes/activities with all functional areas, from demand planning to customer delivery.
- Proactively identify and resolve safety issues or potential concerns.
- Support Marketing and R&D on new product initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to all policies and procedures for Quality Assurance, Food Safety, and customer specifications on a daily basis.
- Continually coach, direct, and train employees using Lean principles; monitor work performance and attitude, and conduct formal reviews as required by policy.
- Coach and counsel employees on work-related issues and assist in correcting job skill deficiencies.
- Ensure all plant personnel operate in compliance with plant and corporate procedures, as well as customer and governmental regulations.
- Coordinate manufacturing activities with other organizational functions and suppliers to optimize production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
- Drive employee engagement, training, and development to maximize safety, quality, and productivity.
