About the role

The Plant Manager is responsible for leading GHSP’s “Relentless Pursuit toward the Ideal State World Class Operations” (on Demand, One by One, Defect Free, Zero Waste, Safe), establishing a culture of producing ZERO Defects and exceeding KPIs. This role provides direction to salaried and hourly production and support staff in a manufacturing and assembly environment, driving strategic actions through daily, weekly, and monthly operating cadences. The Plant Manager fosters an environment focused on value creation through problem solving, people development, and company values—driving Mutual Trust & Respect. This position leads continuous improvement, benchmarking, and best-practice sharing while developing talent. Accountable for maintaining high standards in manufacturing quality products safely, ensuring cost efficiency, on-time delivery, and positive employee relations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee overall performance of assigned work group, including safety, quality, compliance, cost, and output schedule performance.
  • Coach and improve individual and team performance to meet quality, safety, and job performance standards.
  • Ensure team compliance with policies, procedures, and work rules, including disciplinary actions for noncompliance.
  • Serve as the primary communication link between leadership and production teams.
  • Train and develop team members to ensure safe, high-quality, and productive job performance.
  • Maintain positive employee relationships within and between departments and other plant locations.
  • Design, implement, and lead projects supporting continuous improvement and the GHSP Business Operating System (e.g., Train the Trainers, Lead by Teaching).
  • Manage the Floor Management Delivery System (FMDS).
  • Drive department metrics (SQDCM) and problem-solve to address gaps.
  • Lead coaching and mentoring for problem-solving to identify root causes of SQDCM misses.
  • Implement Lean culture in a manufacturing environment and lead multiple functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field (preferred).
  • 8+ years of quality manufacturing experience in the Automotive space, ideally at the OEM or Tier 1 level.
  • Experience in global leadership, change management, and working effectively within a matrix environment.
  • Strong process development background with demonstrated ability to gain organizational commitment for new processes.
  • Certification or experience in Six Sigma (Black Belt), Shainin Red X, or other proven Practical Problem-Solving methods.
  • Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and leading global Operational and Lean strategies.
  • Prior experience leading Production, Quality, Materials, and Lean functions.
