Plant Manager

About the role

Manage the OmniSource Elliot facility. Ensure compliance in safety, environmental, and personnel issues.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate, design, develop, evaluate, and track training for employee growth and development.
• Develop and control budgets and operating plans.
• Implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs.
• Generate and maintain reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Ensure operating expenses are consistent with the facility budgetary and fiscal performance goals.
• Cook up and supervise departmental activities daily.
• Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards.
• Daily, weekly, & month inventory responsibility.
• Work in conjunction with transport team to ensure safe & efficient fleet.
• Work in conjunction with marketing to determine best alternatives for processing, pricing, & sales of materials.
• Order new and/or replacement equipment as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma
• Minimum of three years supervisory experience
• Experience with ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metals required.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• JD Edwards a plus.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent team building, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
• Team player dedicated to the success of the organization.
• Able to make quick decisions in an ever changing work environment.
• Experience with operations methods, process improvement programs and procedures required.
• Preferred Knowledge of scrap is a plus.
