About the role
Silgan Containers is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead operations at our Briengsville, Pennsylvania, manufacturing facility. This position reports to the Director of Operations and provides leadership to all plant departments, including Production, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Materials, Human Resources, and Finance.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all plant operations across production, maintenance, quality, materials, and HR to meet company goals for safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Promote a zero-incident safety culture and ensure compliance with OSHA, food safety, and regulatory standards.
- Develop and implement manufacturing strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Establish and manage budgets, cost controls, and continuous improvement programs to achieve performance targets.
- Drive a results-oriented culture by defining clear goals, monitoring performance, and developing high-performing teams.
- Partner with Quality and Procurement to ensure production and purchased materials meet customer specifications.
- Build collaboration and teamwork through open communication and effective leadership.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and product quality systems.
Requirements
- An associate's degree or equivalent experience is required; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive operations experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong business acumen and ability to manage P&L performance.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with union contract administration and labor relations.
- Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams and driving measurable results.
Qualifications
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, noise, and chemicals.
