About the Role
- Ensure the efficient management of precast manufacturing operations by overseeing production planning, staffing, and day-to-day operations in a cost-effective manner.
- Accurately track and record metrics, troubleshoot and resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to minimize costs and prevent delays.
- Act as a leader in continuous improvement and change management.
- Analyze production reports to identify improvements for better efficiencies and reduced quality defects.
- Communicate, implement, and apply company policies and procedures.
- Motivate employees, lead by example, and encourage autonomous work by empowering staff.
- Develop a training plan and ensure succession planning.
- Ensure product quality standards are met through inspections and material testing procedures.
- Administer the company safety program, ensuring compliance with required training and OSHA safety procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years’ experience successfully managing a precast concrete manufacturing plant.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present oneself professionally and courteously in internal and external relationships.
- Strong knowledge of production management in the concrete industry or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of large machine operation, construction of infrastructure, and shipping and fulfillment.
- Knowledge and experience implementing Lean manufacturing techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to provide direction, develop and lead a team, and inspire achievement of key goals in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Ability to apply problem-solving techniques and provide clear, concise verbal instructions.
- Mathematical skills and mechanical abilities to diagnose and solve problems.
- Demonstrated positive attitude, strong work ethic, and dedication.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and manufacturing/ERP/database systems software.
- Proactive problem-solving techniques and a thorough, organized, detail-oriented approach to work.
- Sound planning skills and ability to execute action plans.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel 10-15% of the time to other locations and/or meetings.
