Plant Maintenance Technician, Speedway

About the role

The Plant Maintenance Technician at Milestone Contractors is responsible for ensuring concrete plants operate efficiently and effectively. This role involves diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing plant equipment, electrical systems, and controls to meet production schedules. Additional duties include preparing and scheduling winter repairs and preventative maintenance, communicating effectively with plant managers and operators, and promoting a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensures plants are able to run efficiently and effectively
• Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and repairs plant equipment, electrical systems, and equipment controls in a timely manner
• Prepares and schedules winter repairs and PM's
• Schedules preventive maintenance
• Performs maintenance to reduce impact on production
• Communicates effectively with plant managers and operators
• Advises on problems, potential problems, or schedule difficulties
• Collaborates with dispatch, operations, and equipment
• Facilitates collaboration among plant personnel
• Promotes and maintains a safe work environment
• Evaluates work area for hazards and eliminates or controls them
• Wears all prescribed PPE
• Participates in daily safety huddles and safety training
• Follows safe work plans
• Reads and understands hazard signs, training materials, work plans, instruction manuals

Requirements

• High School or Equivalent
• Experience in Industrial Maintenance or related field required (3+ years)
• Experience in concrete plant maintenance preferred
• Experience in fabrication, plumbing, and/or welding preferred

Qualifications

• A valid driver's license and meet company driver requirements
• Pass a pre-employment drug screen
• Adhere to drug-free workplace and union substance abuse policies

Pay

Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with a minimum of 40 hours per week. During peak construction seasons, extended, evening, overnight, shift, and weekend hours may be required.
