Crusoe Energy is revolutionizing computing by harnessing stranded natural gas to power high-performance computing, creating a more sustainable future. As a Plant Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the reliability and uptime of critical manufacturing equipment.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot Electrical & Mechanical Issues: Diagnose and resolve complex electrical (high and low voltage) and mechanical problems on manufacturing and facility systems to minimize downtime. Troubleshoot CNC machines, PLCs, utility systems (compressed air, potable water, HVAC), and production equipment, escalating advanced automation/control issues when necessary.
- Maintain Electrical & Utility Systems: Oversee the maintenance of power supply lines, electrical distribution systems, motors, generators, switches, control panels, circuit breakers, wiring, sensors, relays, and electronic components. Maintain facility utility systems and building equipment such as hoists, overhead doors, and industrial trucks.
- Preventive Maintenance Program: Plan, schedule, and execute preventive maintenance activities using a CMMS, including parts purchasing and developing work instructions. Manage PM workloads, prioritize tasks, conduct routine inspections, and implement reliability improvements.
- PLC, Controls & Electrical Diagnostics: Perform diagnostics and repairs on PLC systems, control panels, wiring, fuses, breakers, and circuits. Interpret schematics and manuals to ensure seamless machine operation.
- Regulatory & Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations. Maintain and enforce the Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) program and drive adherence to safety standards across maintenance activities.
- Project Coordination & Support: Collaborate with vendors, Engineering, and Operations teams on system upgrades, new installations, and maintenance activities. Support project work and equipment installations, ensuring timely and effective execution.
- Work Leadership: Work independently with minimal supervision, completing assigned tasks and troubleshooting issues to minimize production impact. Provide informal guidance and support to other Maintenance Technician personnel while collaborating with Facilities Manager and internal customers.
Requirements
- Extensive Electrical Experience: 5+ years (10+ preferred) of experience in high and low voltage electrical systems in manufacturing, including installation, maintenance, and repair. Familiarity with city utilities, rotating machinery, air compressors, and CNC machinery is highly valued.
- Electrical Code Knowledge: In-depth understanding of relevant electrical codes.
- Equipment Proficiency: Skilled in using electrical testing equipment such as voltmeters, amp meters, and other diagnostic tools.
- Safety Focus: A strong commitment to safety, with experience in Lockout/Tagout procedures and safety-sensitive environments.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent troubleshooting skills for diagnosing complex electrical issues.
- Communication & Collaboration Skills: Strong ability to work with managers, peers, and vendors effectively.
- Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in varied weather conditions, stand or sit for long periods, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Safety and Compliance: This position is designated a safety-sensitive position and/or is located in a safety-sensitive facility. Drug and alcohol program participation is required. Must be able to pass a background check.
Qualifications
- Experience with actively utilizing a CMMS, preferably UpKeep.
- Experience in other building trades such as carpentry, HVAC, or plumbing.
- Experience partnering with production and scheduling departments.
