Plant Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Plant Maintenance Technician contributes to the successful operation and care of equipment used in the process of air separation; also bringing a commitment to the care and maintenance of plant mechanical, instrumentation and electrical devices and equipment.

Job Duties

  • Collaborating safely around High voltage Electrical equipment, compressors, pumps, motors, valves; working on cryogenic process equipment such as pumps, valves, and hoses.
  • Completing basic disassembly and rebuild of mechanical equipment, changing out pumps, mechanical seals, collecting vibration readings, collecting oil samples, and greasing rotating equipment.
  • Supporting basic low voltage electrical system maintenance, process control loop and readout calibrations.
  • Calibrating and replacing transmitters with accuracy.
  • Completing Preventative Maintenance tasks and documenting them in the CMMS system.
  • Removing and installing motors and pumps.
  • Growing knowledge of the ASU Process.
  • Supporting the team by covering shifts if a situation arises.
  • Collaborating with nearby plant teams during their shutdown or PM activities.

Required Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 2 – 5 years of industrial plant / cryogenic plant experience preferred.
  • Understanding of control valve functions, Instrument Calibration, Pressure Transmitter, Level Transmitter, etc.
  • Experience troubleshooting equipment in a plant environment.
  • Comfortable working in a non-air conditioned environment.
  • Experienced with Multimeters (Fluke Multimeters).
  • Able to climb and work on heights (>100 ft).
  • Computer Experience, must be familiar with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Electrical / Instrumentation equipment in a plant environment.
  • Candidate with a strong Mechanical background in a plant environment.
