Who are we looking for
- A High School Diploma or GED
- 3 years of prior experience as a maintenance mechanic in an industrial plant environment
- OR
- A 2 year technical degree or certificate in a maintenance field such as Industrial Maintenance Mechanical Maintenance or related field of study AND 1 year experience as a maintenance mechanic in an industrial plant environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform repairs, preventive maintenance, electrical, and minor controls work on plant production equipment including mixing, forming, baking, and packaging equipment.
- Inspect mechanical systems, electrical systems, equipment, controls, and components to identify hazards, defects and need for adjustments/repairs/programming.
- Troubleshoot and repair defective machines and equipment by adjusting, replacing, or installing new or reconditioned parts, following specifications and blueprints, and manuals.
- Inspect spare parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements using rulers, calipers, micrometers and other measuring instruments.
- Conduct informal training of operators and junior maintenance techs as needed.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns in a timely manner to ensure minimal downtime.
- Comply with all OSHA Safety, GMPs, and Food and Health Safety rules and regulations.
- Communicate technical subjects verbally and written to co-workers and vendors.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
Qualifications
2 year technical degree or certificate in a maintenance field such as Industrial Maintenance Mechanical Maintenance or related field of study AND 1 year experience as a maintenance mechanic in an industrial plant environment.
