Plant Maintenance Mechanic

About the role

Dairy Farmers of America is seeking skilled plant maintenance mechanics to ensure the continued operation of machinery and equipment in various capacities. This position focuses on the care and maintenance of production and packaging equipment, as well as utility systems.

Responsibilities

• Complete planned and unplanned maintenance requirements on production, packaging, processing equipment and utility systems.
• Ensure the continued operation of machinery and equipment in an electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, pneumatic and hydraulic capacity.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• One year experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing facility, preferably in the food and beverage industry.
• One year experience with one or more technical experiences such as electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, computer-controlled equipment, PLC and/or HVAC.
• One year experience with a variety of equipment including lubricating, cleaning, material handling, motor control, relay control, process control and packaging equipment.
• Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• Able to handle basic hand tools.
• Able to stand, walk, kneel and bend required for virtually the entire shift; occasionally required to climb or balance.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Able to work in a cold, wet environment with moderate to high noise volume.
• May experience some exposure to fumes, airborne particles, chemicals or allergens.
• Willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Two to three years field related experience.
• Three years of experience required in a maintenance role within a manufacturing facility.

Skills

• Electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, computer-controlled equipment, PLC and/or HVAC experience.
• Laboratory skills.
• Basic hand tools.
• Ability to work in a cold, wet environment with moderate to high noise volume.

Pay

$37.96 per hour.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 2nd Shift, 2pm to 10:30pm.
