About the Role
As a member of the Plant IT team at Ford, you are directly responsible for maintaining the systems that keep each of our 4 transmission lines running. Your role involves providing technical support, data analysis, and problem resolution for the applications and infrastructure used in transmission production for Ford and Lincoln vehicles globally. Responsibilities
- Support a multi-shift operation in a manufacturing plant, requiring a flexible schedule (days, nights, and/or weekends).
- Provide technical support (IT applications, infrastructure, operating systems, end-user productivity tools) to plant business customers throughout the manufacturing facility.
- Interface with Business IT and business owners to prioritize improvement efforts.
- Support Plant Floor Systems/PDO teams in resolving incidents, including escalations and collaboration with global teams (e.g., DBA, Server Operations, Ops Control, Network Operations).
- Focus on the integration and long-term maintenance of applications and hardware.
- Assist the team lead with managing assignments and workload.
- Develop, maintain, and share accurate support documentation.
- Support local network equipment in a Cisco-based environment.
- Support local servers across both physical and virtual environments in Windows and Linux ecosystems.
- Support IIOT deployments and expansion efforts using iOS and Android-based equipment.
Requirements
- High School diploma.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Server administration (Windows 2012+ or Linux).
- Cisco routers and switches, including basic staging, troubleshooting, and cable installation.
- Windows Server and Windows Active Directory/ADFS.
- VM servers (OSV).
- Android and/or iOS devices (iPhones, iPads).
- Mac OS.
- Office365 and SharePoint.
- Office automation.
- FIS, QLS-CM, QTS, QWX, PDS, LMA, OBL, QDAS.
- Dell PCs, Dell Laptops, HP Printers, and HP Servers.
- A strong desire to learn manufacturing operations and business practices from an IT perspective.
- Broad business and manufacturing perspective is helpful.
- Understanding of computer-based tools, computing infrastructure, and interest in processes supporting manufacturing.
- Willingness to work in a high-pressure production environment with a flexible schedule.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple assignments.
- Work efficiently and effectively with diverse, cross-functional teams under stressful circumstances.
- Ability to communicate effectively with business users and IT professionals, including globally distributed teams.
- Adjust communications appropriately for the audience, including all levels of management.
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to identify, investigate, and solve problems without supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Plant floor automation experience (e.g., control systems, PLCs) is highly desired but not required.
- Manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.

Pay
$74,300 - $166,200 (salary grades 6-8).
