About the role
The Plant HR Manager is responsible for the HR function in a non-union plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This role involves delivering HR standards and programs defined by corporate centers of excellence, identifying local solutions, and serving as a key member of the Plant Management Team.
Responsibilities
- Support business strategy through the execution of end-to-end HR solutions and corporate initiatives
- Participate as part of the plant leadership team
- Provide coaching and guidance on complex employee relations issues to develop resolutions and improve teammate performance
- Design and reinforce site specific HR policies, standards, and procedures in line with legislative requirements and industry best practices
- Track HR metrics and KPIs, and notify the Plant Manager and functional manager of any non-compliance
- Develop and implement training matrices and plans in conjunction with department heads per TS16949 requirements and TWI methodology
- Deliver in-house training as needed
- Facilitate screening, testing, interviewing, and selection for open positions in partnership with hiring managers
- Maintain the applicant and talent pool in compliance with regulatory boards including the EEOC
- Administer onboarding for new and transferred teammates
- Guide the management team on performance practices
- Administer the Performance Management and Development System
- Deploy the talent management model, including the 9 Box tool, to identify high potentials and ensure development plans are in place
- Manage teammate injury claims from report through return to work
- Maintain injury, illness, and workers' compensation records
- Report HS&E statistics per corporate and regulatory requirements
- Act as facility liaison for regulatory inspections
- Establish procedures encouraging teammates to report unsafe conditions without fear of discipline
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and a Professional Human Resources designation (PHR, SPHR, or equivalent)
- 5+ years of HR management experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of HR management with the ability to influence decision makers at multiple organizational levels
- Experience working in a matrix, global organization
