About the Role

As a Plant Health Care Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing plant health issues, applying targeted treatments, and supporting the long-term vitality of trees and shrubs. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, value hands-on work, and are committed to making a positive environmental impact.

Responsibilities

  • Identify a variety of trees, shrubs, pests, and diseases to determine appropriate treatment plans
  • Apply eco-friendly treatments, including fertilization, soil amendments, and pest or disease control
  • Perform deep root injections, soil compaction alleviation, and watering as needed
  • Operate and maintain specialized plant health care equipment, such as air spades and root pruners
  • Conduct daily inspections and routine maintenance of equipment to ensure safety and functionality
  • Follow all safety protocols and use required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Maintain accurate records of pesticide applications, work logs, and customer interactions
  • Interact professionally with clients, providing education on tree and plant health
  • Identify opportunities for additional services and assist in scheduling treatments

Qualifications

  • Massachusetts pesticide license required
  • Experience in plant health care, tree care, landscaping, or a related field preferred
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Knowledge of tree and shrub identification, or willingness to learn
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to follow precise directions and safety procedures
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
  • Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred
