Plant Groundman

Rogers Group, Inc., headquartered in Nashville, is a privately held aggregates and asphalt highway construction company operating in 13 states with over 3,500 employees. Established in 1908, RGI is the largest privately held aggregate producer in the United States. This position is located at our Lacey's Spring Quarry in Lacey's Spring, AL, reporting to the Plant Manager.

Responsibilities

• General plant/mine labor and clean-up of production areas, including shoveling stone from around conveyors and assisting with plant clean-up and operations.
• Operate a variety of heavy equipment and machinery.
• Perform daily pre- and post-inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
• Perform servicing and maintenance of equipment as trained and directed by management.
• Operate equipment with a high degree of safety and intermediate skill level.
• Train in various other entry-level production positions and fill in as needed during vacations, absences, and increased production demand.
• Report equipment problems and identify them to management.
• Perform light maintenance work and maintain the belt lines.
• Assist with plant operator duties as needed.
• Complete equipment pre-shift report – if applicable.
• Assist other workers as needed or directed and perform other duties as assigned by management.
• Properly follow all company policies and OSHA/MSHA/environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

• Self-motivated individual; must be able to perform required duties without constant supervision.
• Able to perform a variety of duties, including plant clean-up, maintenance, operating equipment, and other assigned tasks.
• Ability to learn quickly.
• Must be willing to work weekends and overtime.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen.

Pay

Wages dependent on verifiable experience.
