About the role

The Plant EHS & Safety Manager at Tillamook County Creamery Association (TCCA) plays a crucial role in protecting the health and safety of all employees while promoting environmental stewardship and ensuring full regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute TCCA's strategy for proactive employee engagement in EHS programs using industry best practices and regulatory guidance.
  • Administer all site EHS programs—including training, workers’ compensation, incentive programs, and compliance with OR-Osha, OR-DEQ, and U.S. EPA regulations—to support corporate EHS objectives.
  • Conduct EHS audits, inspections, and hazard assessments to identify risks and drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop, deliver, monitor, and audit EHS and security training to ensure all employees meet annual compliance requirements.
  • Support and guide the site EHS Committee, ensuring strong communication, engagement, and follow-through on action items.
  • Assist in developing, tracking, and reporting EHS metrics that highlight trends, improvement opportunities, and progress on goals.
  • Manage Workers’ Compensation processes, including injury investigations, case tracking, medical appointments, and return-to-work documentation.

  • Partner with site leadership to enhance EHS awareness, accountability, and understanding of EHS responsibilities across the facility.
  • Stay current on regulatory requirements and industry trends to promote informed employee involvement and maintain compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 5 years’ experience in the EHS function required.

Qualifications

  • Computer proficiency and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.

Skills

  • Knowledge of industry best practices and regulatory guidance.
  • Ability to conduct EHS audits, inspections, and hazard assessments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and deliver EHS and security training.
  • Experience managing Workers’ Compensation processes.
  • Ability to stay current on regulatory requirements and industry trends.

Pay

Tillamook County Creamery Association (TCCA) offers competitive compensation packages tailored to individual roles and qualifications.

Schedule

The role operates in plant offices and department work areas located within production or warehouse environments. The workspace includes a desk and computer but may not always be temperature-controlled and can involve exposure to loud background noise. The position requires regular entry into the production facility, including walking on uneven or slippery surfaces and navigating areas with active forklift traffic. The role requires primarily sitting, with periods of standing and walking to complete tasks. Occasional stooping, bending, and crouching may be needed for filing or accessing supplies. The position may also require occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.

Management/Supervisors

Responsible for taking necessary action on all food safety and quality problems reported or observed. Insure a trained designee is appointed to cover for absences or vacancies.
