About the role

The Plant Director at MeriCal is responsible for overseeing production, maintenance, inventory control, safety, employee appraisals, and operator training. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, managing production activities to meet customer demands, maintaining production records, and improving operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes information systems for inputting data, scheduling, inventory control, purchasing, billing, pricing, payroll, and other MeriCal functions.
  • Maintains production records such as quality control, cleaning, QC batch packaging sheets, and other important paperwork.
  • Manages, supports, coordinates, controls, and communicates all actions regarding activities in production to ensure effective and efficient operations.
  • Ensures product quality meets or exceeds customer expectations.
  • Conducts meetings with employees and provides training, including safety training, hands-on-operator training, and batch record component training.
  • Trains a core of supervisors and leads to improve overall morale and efficiencies.
  • Improves efficiencies through better process controls and labor utilization.
  • Reduces costs by minimizing sort, scrap, and rework, reducing overtime, and ensuring optimal labor usage.
  • Communicates with customer service on job statuses, problems, and other relevant information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business or relevant field.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience working in a high-volume manufacturing and packaging facility as a Plant Director.
  • Knowledge of critical computer programs for tracking, scheduling, producing, and shipping high volumes of quality product.
  • Solid leadership skills to manage, direct, and train employees.
  • First-hand knowledge of processing and packaging vitamin products and understanding of FDA rules and regulations (cGMP's and SOP's).

Pay

A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $150,000 - $170,000. The compensation offered may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and/or education.
