Plant Director
About the role
Lead one of Honeywell Building Automation’s largest and most strategic manufacturing operations in Northford, Connecticut. This flagship site manufactures and distributes critical fire, life-safety, and building-management solutions for global customers. The role demands an exceptional operational leader who can drive world-class manufacturing performance while leading large-scale transformation initiatives across operations, quality, supply chain, safety, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for a large-scale manufacturing and distribution site.
- Lead, coach, and develop a diverse organization through multiple layers of leadership.
- Drive a culture of safety, accountability, employee engagement, and continuous improvement.
- Deliver operational excellence across quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and inventory performance.
- Develop and execute site strategies that support business growth, customer commitments, and operational objectives.
- Champion Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and eliminate waste.
- Partner with Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, Planning, Sourcing, and HSE leaders to achieve business goals.
- Lead organizational and cultural transformation efforts, fostering innovation and collaboration throughout the site.
- Ensure regulatory, environmental, safety, and compliance requirements are consistently met.
- Build strong relationships with customers, business leaders, and key stakeholders across Honeywell.
- Establish succession plans and talent strategies that strengthen organizational capability and leadership depth.
- Drive capital investment planning and execution to support future business growth and manufacturing excellence.
Requirements
You must have
- Minimum 10 years of operational plant management experience.
- Demonstrated success driving operational transformation and performance improvement initiatives.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.

- Experience leading large, multi-shift manufacturing operations.
- Proven success in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar operational excellence methodologies.
- Strong understanding of quality systems, supply chain operations, planning, sourcing, and manufacturing execution.
- Experience leading cultural change and organizational transformation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
- Professional certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, or Supply Chain disciplines.

Pay
The annual base salary range for this position is $179,000–225,000. This salary information serves as a general guideline; Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
